Senior Center Happenings

I hope everyone had a good Labor Day weekend.

I wished we had a three day weekend every month. (Just saying).

Marilyn Cantrell won the 300 pound hog raffle. Thank you Danny Hutchins for donating and supporting your senior center.

September 12th at 11:00 am we will have Bank Day at the center. Landmark bank will pay for all congregate lunches. Thank you to Landmark bank for supporting the senior center. Our all you can eat breakfast will be held on September 23 at 7:00 am and will end at 10:30 am. We are still at the old building.

The baseboard came in for the new building and the installation has begun, things are beginning to take shape. The cabinet bids have been received, and so we are looking at those as we speak.

On Sunday October 15th we will have our annual auction. At 11:00 am we will have a chicken dinner with the fixings. The cost will be $8.00 and you will be able to pick your tickets up at the senior center or from any board member or whoever wants to sell them. The auction will take place at 2:00 pm. We still need your used items for our auction, deadline for bringing them will be in October 5th.

There is no “i” in team, but we are sure glad there is U in our volunteers. Don’t procrastinate any longer, we need you now.

Listen To Your Doctor

Clyde, an 82 year-old man, went to the doctor to get a physical. A few days later the doctor saw Clyde walking down the street with a gorgeous young woman on his arm. The doctor spoke to Clyde and said, “You’re really doing great, aren’t you?” Clyde replied, “Just doing what you said, Doc: “Get a hot mamma and be cheerful.” The doctor replied, “I didn’t say that. I said, “You’ve got a heart murmur. Be careful.” ..ooh!

Revelation 1:7  “Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen.
