Sheriff’s Report

According to reports received from the Texas County Sheriff’s Office:

March 4

A domestic disturbance was reported on Split Limb Road, in Raymondville. The 12-hour rule was placed into effect.

A 71-year-old Bucyrus woman was found dead from a gunshot wound on Flat Rock Road. No foul play was suspected and the wound appeared to be self-inflicted. The coroner was called to the scene.

March 5

The wellbeing of a person on Highway 181, Cabool, was checked. The person was transported by ambulance to a medical facility in West Plains.

A deputy assisted a Division of Family Services investigator on a report of alleged child abuse on Bean Creek Drive, in Licking. No one was at the residence.

An abandoned vehicle was reported on Brushy Creek Road, Houston. The vehicle was blocking the road. The owner could not be located, so the vehicle was towed.

March 6

The wellbeing of a person on Highway 63 at Northview Lane, in Houston, was checked.

An alarm call was received on Route E, Houston. The call was canceled by the homeowner, who stated she had triggered the alarm by accident.

A peace disturbance was reported on Freedom Road, in Willow Springs, where a banging noise was heard. The deputy found a person attempting to fix a vehicle.

March 7

Trespassing was reported on Hidden Valley Road, in Mountain Grove. A check of the property was made and no one was found.

A woman on Arthur Creek Drive, in Licking, came home and found the front door open and all the lights on inside the residence. She asked that deputies secure the residence. The homeowner determined that nothing was missing. The deputy noted there appeared to be a problem with the door staying shut.

March 17

A 911 hang-up was investigated on Route BB, in Licking. A domestic disturbance had occurred. One party left for the night, and the 12-hour rule was placed into effect.

March 18

A prisoner was transported from Phelps County Sheriff’s Office, in Rolla, to Texas County Jail.

March 19

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office contacted the sheriff’s department about a possible stolen trailer. A deputy went to an address on Castleberry Lane, in Cabool. The resident stated he had purchased the trailer. It was determined that the trailer had been stolen in 2015, but was recovered and that the owner forgot to tell the sheriff’s office that it had been recovered. The trailer’s owner made contact with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas County deputy’s assistance was no longer needed.

A resident on Route N, in Licking, reported a license plate had been stolen off his travel trailer.

A prisoner was transported from a correctional facility at Fordland to Texas County Jail.

A prisoner was transported from Craighead County Jail, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to Texas County Jail.

A domestic dispute was reported on Route C, in Licking. The 12-hour rule was placed into effect.

A suspicious vehicle was reported parked near Big Piney Trail Camp, in Licking. The vehicle was gone when the deputy arrived.

March 20

Trespassing was reported on Route E, in Houston. An attempt was made to locate the trespasser and advise him not to return to the property.

Houston Police Department requested assistance with traffic control at Highway 63 and Holder Drive during a funeral procession.

March 21

A prisoner was transported to a correctional facility in Fordland from Texas County Jail.

A prisoner was transported from Franklin County Jail, in Union, to Texas County Jail.
